I am known as Thailand Mike. I've been tattooing since 1991. Born in Hells kitchen, New York. Had a tremendous fascination with tattoos while growing up. I would see my uncles sporting tattoos on their bodies produced by Thai monks in the temple. Since 1st grade I would sketch different faces and designs throughout my body, but I never thought I would be tattooing as a hobby or a profession. And then mom threw me out of the house. That was the spark that started my life as a tattooer.
I built my shop and went public with tattooing in 1997, when it finally became legal in NYC. The studio was named Scratch Tattoos. It was “the shop” in Queens. Scratch Tattoos remained open til 2008. And then I took a hiatus. It’s 2012 and I'm back. I’m here, I’m there, I’m everywhere! I guest spot at different studios and take on projects at special tattoo events.
I'm versatile in all styles of tattooing. I specialize in custom black and grey, abstract designs, and realistic portraits. Currently I am focused on large scale tattoos, from full sleeves to full side rib panels, and a have huge yearning for colors.
